I recently chatted with poet and artist Talitha Fraser on the Proost Poetry Podcast about embodiment practice as a practice of resistance and deep connection! What we chatted about:

  • Talitha invokes stories and wisdom of elders and their resistance to government threats.
  • I introduce my work and share a poem about how our bodies shape our perspectives of reality.
  • Talitha and I get curious about new and unknown ways of the seeing the world that might be opened up as we shift our bodies.
  • Talitha asks me about my artist statement, which begins with the words “I long to make the darkness beautiful”; I discuss what has always made a difference in my experiences of disconnection.
  • Talitha and I discuss being slammed by “darkness” and overwhelming truths in the last four to eight years.
  • Talitha and I discuss how we’ve been feeling & the “existential crisis” vibe pushing us forward on our aligned, divinely ordained paths. We close with thoughts on what we feel is grounding work for us in this time.
