Y’all. Wow. It is funny how what we create – and what we are attracted to – is just a clear reflection of who we are.
Yesterday I was pondering the words that are emerging for me that will guide me in 2022. I came up with a group of words like softness, accept, and surrender to let go into my emotions. I came up with another group of words like movement, play, celebration, life, moving forward, discovery. Being the logical deconstructor that I am, I realized these two major groups of words were: “raw” (emotion) and “movement” hahahaha. Hilarious.
Then, I realized I wrote out an additional group of words about my grounding self, needs, practices, and contexts/relationships. This is “ground”. This makes it possible and safe for me to embody “raw” and “movement”.
Now, what’s funnier is that I recently learned my moon sign hahaha (never paid attention before), which has me at: Sun in Cancer, Moon in Aries, Capricorn rising. A few months back, I had my Raw Movement visual identity colors selected (in collaboration with Sophie Co.) and I now realize they perfectly match my “makeup” or “design”. The key colors ended up being deep blue (this is Cancer, water!), deep red (this is Aries, fire!), and brown/gold (this is Capricorn, earth!). Deep blue is movement and is also raw feeling. Deep red is firy feeling or rawness and also movement, life or vibrant energy. Brown/gold is groundedness. Simply put, Raw Movement and the colors we selected for Raw Movement are in my design. It’s who I was born to be and again and again that is what keeps coming up for me to step into.
I’ll add that the last color we decided on was Black, for everythingness and nothingness, for mystery, and the unknown, the void (perhaps someone who reads my birthchart can tell me why I love the mystery and depth of black and white!).
When I was attracted to creating a movement class which is becoming Raw Movement, I didn’t know why. When the name Raw Movement came to me, I didn’t know why. But now I am seeing so clearly that I am me by design and we all are ourselves from birth (as the great Oprah says over and over). If we listen to where our souls are called, what we create is a reflection of who we truly are. Raw Movement is a perfect mirror – not of my desires but of who I actually am. So, I am stepping back into myself in 2022.
Sometimes when I’m in a rush to explain Raw Movement, I describe it as a business or organization, and I cringe on the inside. Because Raw Movement is not a business or an organization. Raw Movement is the practice of who I am. Raw Movement is the excavation of my soul. Raw Movement is a container where who I already am is applauded and loved. Raw Movement is how I approach life. Raw Movement is my natural way of being. I am so excited to attract folks to Raw Movement, because Raw Movement is me.
To that end, Raw Movement is not the “right” way to do anything. It is simply my way of doing everything.
