The theme for today: showing up to & nurturing our Work consistently is showing up to ourselves consistently.
I think we think our work is about somebody else but our work is about US. Our work, the work we are called to do, is in direct response to our experiences and stories of harm, hurt, conflict, grief, suffering, and when we engage in our work we RESPOND to ourselves. We move ourselves forward in power. We offer ourselves the medicine that we have created or discovered that alleviated our suffering. Oh, what it is to bring ourselves medicine every day and share with others that which saved our souls! Our work is enough. Your work is enough. It has saved your soul. Our work in creating spaces of deep connection, where we can be our rawest selves, is enough. Our work in deconstructing our past, in deconstructing spaces so that we can rebuild the spaces that we seek – is enough. It is not only enough. It is phenomenal. We do not need the applause of the neurotypical, the heterosexist, the classist, the racist. We show up for our Work because it is our divine mission. We show up for our Work because it is the medicine we need. We show up for our Work because our work IS showing up for ourselves. It is in our work where we FOUND ourselves. It is there where we are at our home. We show up for our Work because it is there where we are powerful. And it is there where we renew our power. May we continuously discover what our Work is, and show up for ourselves.
