Hello there!

So happy you are interested in building Raw Movement with me! I have grand visions for Raw Movement and am looking for operations, outreach, and finances leaders to build with me towards that vision. Some more info about available roles/teams within Raw Movement Building Team:

Broad Purpose/Mission: to collectively build a homebase/gathering space/experimental ground for artists who are dreaming of or currently creating/leading spaces of deep connection, home, family, emotional safety.

Who Can Join The Building Team/Eligibility: Current leaders of spaces of deep connection who have existing grounding practices may be invited to join. By grounding practices, we mean practices of deeply connecting to one’s body through techniques of self-awareness and nervous system regulation. I ask that folks have experience and commitment to leading, co-leading, and collaborating within organizations.

What Will Guide Us? Building Team members learn about the Raw Movement vision in-depth, along with current priorities and teams.  As they work, they formulate a way in which their  work can allow them to further explore their own interests or questions related to creating spaces of deep connection (that are deeply aligned with Raw Movement).  Individuals incubate their interests and experiment with creating spaces of deep connection. Building Team members commit to listening to their gut reactions in terms of going forward with work that excites and energizes them.

How Will We Show Up? It shall be spacious, needs-first, as our full raw selves, choice-based, celebratory, flexible, and centering deep connection to our selves/bodies, to the folks we are building community with, and to our visions of creating spaces of deep connection, home, family. You can expect that the way that we “work” together will be aligned with how we practice connection/rawness/depth in Raw Movement, using the Raw Movement Framework.

What Building Work Is Needed? While working on their project/interest/goal, Building Team members join or lead the following three teams. The vision for each team is as follows:

This person/team works with director and all teams to create/ensure concrete plans move us toward realizing the larger vision. This person/team reduces the administrative workload/labor through automated systems. In charge of administration and operations.

This is subsumed under Operations & Administration for now. This futurist designer/team creates and manages technology to organize The Raw Movement Framework. This designer or team figures out technological techniques / systems/databases to organize and store The Raw Movement Framework that I/we are constantly developing so that it is accessible to our community. They set up and maintain databases to house the resources associated with Raw Movement Framework (e.g., video/photo library of Raw Movement). This team manages the daily operations of the facilities along in collaboration with Operations & Administration.

Finances & Business Strategy

This person/team, possibly a consultant or mentors, checks in on and helps build replicable, efficient systems and strategies for ensuring yearly profits in line with visions and beyond – in order to build our space(s) of deep connection. This role is charged with ensuring as little labor as possible to earn money (e.g., why easy donations are fine but not labor-intensive grantwriting). They might do “fundraising” only if it is efficient and systems-driven (e.g., easy collection of donations at ticketing/purchase or easy grant, fellowship, incubator, accelerator applications). They consider the possibilities of investors or financial collaborators and whether that aligns with our values. This role considers how we can be embedded in institutional networks and networks of aligned organizations for resources/financial support. This role ensures progress beyond financial goals, with all projected products/services. . Ensures monthly accounting/bookkeeping, budgeting, payroll, taxes, and all things finances are set.

Outreach & Education

Outreach & partnership building. This futurist organizer(s) is in charge of outreach, partnership building, community education, and communication. This person/team is constantly in communication with our broader communities to ensure we are responding directly to peoplartnere’s current needs, desires, yearnings. They form partnerships with aligned organizations.

Partnership for Residencies. This team considers the potential of both the agency/collective and school being completely housed (yearlong+ residencies) by institutions that Justina (or agency) is teaching at or learning at – to engage in our core activities working with that institution’s community. The team considers the possibility of being housed by, or collaborating with (supporting, and being supported by) truth-committed institutions and organizations like alternative/radical archives, museums, storykeepers, churches, libraries, schools, or universities (see Partners).

Partnership for Support & Impact. This team also works to advance Raw Movement’s impact and legacy in the artist, dance, activism, healing fields through collaboration and  partnership. How can RM be embedded within, situated within, supported (e.g., financially or resources-wise) by institution/s and with aligned organizations? This question requires collaboration with the Finances role. How can RM be deeply connected to networks of aligned/similar/peer organizations?

Education. This person/team creates, uses, and revises labor-saving replicable, efficient (yearly) systems to do outreach to gather people for programs that serve the community – for example, through social media posts, website updates, e-mails, partnered events and (large-scale) presentations, potentially press, etc. As an example of a systematic approach to communications, the same prerecorded lecture series might be used for outreach before introductory workshops. All necessary marketing content might all be pre-written and recycled “pillar articles” might be available on the site and then re-used in marketing.

Communications design. This person/team manages or performs communications design tasks in ways that use efficient systems/templates – for example, graphic design, web design and updates, and social media tasks.

Donor communications. This person communicates with donors and ensures systems related to asking for donations are working properly. This person or team devises systems for compiling news about current happenings and organizes documentation of Raw Movement work to share with broader supporter community and donor/potential donor community.

Overall, this role consults with experts and experienced outreach folks to devise/learn partnership building, outreach, education, and communication to reach desired communities.
